Old magnifying glass

Hello,

I would like to ask if you could evaluate an old magnifying glass I own. I have attached some photos.

The magnifying glass

appears to be handmade and might possibly be from Murano, although I’m not sure about its age or origin.

I would appreciate it if you could give me an idea of its possible value and whether it could be suitable for auction.

I'm just seeing your post from back in June about this beautiful magnifying glass. Have you ever discovered more about its story or its origins since you shared it with us?

In case you're still searching for clues, the advice for these things usually holds true. The most important detail is always a small signature or maker's mark, sometimes hidden on the edge of the lens. Your thought about Murano was a very good one, as the little flowers and shiny flecks captured in the handle are a classic style of the Italian glassmakers.

Of course, to learn what it might be worth, nothing can take the place of having an expert on glass or decorative arts hold it in their own hands. A photograph tells so little of the real story.
