Trying to sell a painting

I bought a large oil painting back in 2017 from a gallery in San Francisco. It's by a West Coast artist who had some decent momentum at the time, and I picked it up for around $9,500. I'm now downsizing, and I've been trying to resell some of my paintings one by one and this goes first, but none of the galleries or auction houses are replying to my inquiries. I have already sent out emails with high-res photos, COA, and provenance, but... no reply. Has anyone here used other platforms or private networks to sell contemporary work like this? Would love any pointers.

Yeah galleries and auction houses can be unresponsive, especially if the artist isnt too hot right now. I'd try to reach out to art consignment services that deal with private collectors. Also, these people are busy, so you'd have to find a way to arrange a physical meeting.

my tip for you is to see if the artist has a website or social media presence where they list past works or connect with collectors.
They might be able to direct you to interested buyers or even be willing to help facilitate a sale (for a commission, of course)
