Okay, so I just got a digital print from an artist who's starting to get pretty popular. It's signed and one of a limited number, so it cost me a bit. I really like it, but some pals are saying digital prints aren't worth spending big bucks on. Should I think twice about collecting digital stuff, or is this just what collecting art is like these days?

I think it's a common feeling, especially for folks who are used to more traditional media like painting or sculpture, but don't get your friends' comments get to you too much! The art world has always been evolving, and digital work is a huge part of that now. A lot of major museums and serious collectors have also been acquiring digital and new media works.

The value isn't just in the physical medium, but in the artist's vision, their growing reputation, and the scarcity you mentioned. The digital print you have being a signed, limited edition is already special. If you love the piece and the artist, you made a good call. Trust your own eye and enjoy the work!
