Litograph vs print

I found a specialty print shop near my cousin's new place. They have existing prints for sale but they said they're also offering lithography. I'm new to this art thing and at the moment, I was too shy to ask I mean, I don't want to be forced into purchasing anything that time too so I didn't want to to ask a lot. I figured to search online first and found this forum Are litographs also considered prints? What's the difference? Is it also worth the higher price tag?

To differentiate, "prints" is the umbrella term.. so litograph is a kind of print, and so is woodblock prints, etchings, engravings etc..

But your question about value is a bit tricky.. modern prints only have real value if it's an original, it's hand-signed or a limited edition. For older prints, it was unusual for artists to sign them so the valuable ones are those produced by the artist themselves in their lifetime.

If you're new to investing in art, I suggest you start by buying what you love! That's just priceless!

yeeep, I would say litographs are also prints but do keep in mind they're not digital reproductions because they are handcrafted! every one of them is unique soooo it's gonna cost a lot more you get it. if you want something more exclusive, litographs are the way to go

you can look at lithographs like hand made and come in limited numbers, so there is some value in that
