    is it worth to remove from frame?

    i recently purchased some old art pieces from an auction some are like a hundred years old and the frames are kinda busted dusty and smell weird prob been in a basement or somethin is it smart to just remove from frame and stash the art somewhere safer or better for em? also if i wanna sell...
